I want to limit myself to overviewing music I believe many people have either ignored or are unaware of, thus I won't be dealing with 'Dark Side of the Moon' or 'The Joshua Tree'. Additionally I have a distinct bent towards mid-to-late 20th century music, so if you find I'm overly focused on that era you're probably right.

A Southern Rock band in every sense of the name, Black Oak Arkansas blended a mix of blues, hard rock, and country into their debut album. With the washboard play of Mangrum the band also took on the air of hillbillies that is balanced well with the rest of the music and doesn't overshadow the talent on hand. The songs range from fast (Uncle Elijah, When Electricity Came to Arkansas) to slow (Memories at the Window) to raunchy (Hot and Nasty) and build up into a excellent premier.
